CHATCHAI NOTANANDA

Emerging ArtistIn the early years of an artistic career, building a body of work and exhibition experience.

Biography

Chatchai Notananda grew up in Chiang Mai Province, then moved to Bangkok City to experience life there for quite a long time. After having had enough of the capital, he decided to return to his hometown to finish his Master’s degree in Visual Arts at Chiang Mai University in 2021.

Artist statement

Chatchai Notananda is a Chiang Mai-based visual artist whose practice explores the relationship between memory, landscape, and psychological states. Drawing on personal experiences and recollections of urban, communal, and natural environments, his semi-abstract paintings employ spontaneous gestures, vivid colors, and fragmented forms to create spaces where external realities and inner worlds fluidly converge.
