About this work

A Quiet Sunday Afternoon (บ่ายวันอาทิตย์อันเงียบสงบ) is a watercolour on paper painted in 2026 by Bunleang Dumthongsuk, a Poh-Chang-trained Thai painter known for his range of subjects and techniques, measuring 45 × 55 cm including frame, and it shows a round garden table draped to the ground in a patterned yellow-orange cloth splashed with pink and red, holding a deep plum glass vase of flowers in yellow, orange, red and pink, beside a plate of purple grapes and red apples, a bunch of green grapes and a white dish, set against tree trunks and yellow-green foliage glowing in the afternoon sun, the loose, flowing washes giving the dappled light and shade beneath the trees a soft, warm feel, capturing the ease of a slow weekend afternoon spent outdoors, presented in a gold frame with a white mat, ready to hang in a dining room, living room or any relaxing corner of the home.
