About this work

Afternoon Balcony with a Vase of Flowers (ระเบียงยามบ่ายกับแจกันดอกไม้) is an oil on canvas painted in 2025 by Bunleang Dumthongsuk, a Poh-Chang-trained Thai painter known for his range of subjects and techniques, measuring 84 × 124 cm including frame, and it shows a table by a balcony draped in layered cloths of deep blue, yellow-green and violet, holding a turquoise vase of wildflowers in red, yellow, pink and white whose stems spray freely outward, surrounded by a red apple, oranges, pomegranates, grapes and green fruit, set before a classical balustrade, a stone pillar and a lush tree glowing in the afternoon sun, its short, lively brushstrokes and bright Impressionist-inspired palette making light shimmer across the whole scene and capturing the calm warmth of an afternoon rest on the balcony, presented in a dark wooden frame with a gold inner edge, ready to hang as a generous statement piece for a living room, reception area or entrance hall.
