About this work
A large fish floats on a turquoise ground, its body built from densely layered flowers, fruit, small fish and plants, with drips of paint running down the canvas. The abundance packed into the fish recalls the plenty and childhood memories of the artist’s hometown, as the title suggests. A clear example of Kunakorn’s layered approach to oil painting.
