About this work

Roses by the Column (กุหลาบเคียงเสา) is a watercolour painted in 2026 by Bunleang Dumthongsuk, a Poh-Chang-trained Thai painter known for his range of subjects and techniques, measuring 45 × 55 cm including frame, and it shows a corner of a classical garden where a white stone column on a square base is wrapped in climbing roses blooming in vivid magenta-pink, beside a stone ball finial on a balustrade, with dark green hedges and beds of pink and violet flowers beneath a soft, pale yellow afternoon sky, the loose, flowing washes set against untouched white paper on the column and petals to give the scene a bright, fresh, light-filled feel, capturing the quiet beauty of a European flower garden, presented in a gold frame with a mat, ready to hang in a living room or bedroom or to give as a gift to any rose lover.
