About this work

Still Life (หุ่นนิ่ง) is an oil on wood panel painted in 1990 by Bunleang Dumthongsuk, a Poh-Chang-trained Thai painter known for his range of subjects and techniques, measuring 85 × 95 cm including frame, and it shows a round garden table dressed in a violet-pink cloth dappled with sunlight, crowded with pots of blooming white and pink roses, a jug of white roses, a glass compote of oranges, a dark plate of fruit, a drinking glass and a small blue cup, with a white cloth spilling over from a red wooden chair, all set against lush green foliage in afternoon light, its visible brushwork and bright, Impressionist-inspired palette capturing a calm, warm afternoon in the garden, presented in a matted wooden frame ready to hang as a generous statement piece for a living room, dining room or reception area.
