About this work
Blessings is a 70 × 60 cm acrylic and spray on canvas painted in 2025 by Khun (Jakkaphan Deengam), a Bangkok street artist who has been making work in public spaces since 2022, and it shows a blue elephant-headed figure evocative of Ganesha, dressed in a cream hoodie and gold bangles, holding a paint roller in one hand and a pencil in the other, while a small cap floats above its head and a crumpled spray can lies below, all wrapped in drifts of turquoise spray against a sand-coloured ground. The painting brings a familiar symbol of auspicious beginnings together with the tools of a street artist, suggesting the blessing of creativity named in its title, a fitting piece for a studio, a workspace, or anyone who makes things for a living.
