About this work

My House Too is a 50 × 60 cm acrylic on canvas painted in 2024 by Khun (Jakkaphan Deengam), a Bangkok street artist who has been making work in public spaces since 2022, and it shows a teary-eyed sea turtle carrying a wooden shingled house in place of its shell, complete with a daisy window box and a red mailbox, while a wide-eyed clownfish peeks from the corner, a worried striped reef fish looks on and goldfish and a jellyfish drift across a vivid pink ground, a bittersweet scene whose title asks us to remember that the sea is home to others too, gently questioning human encroachment on marine habitats through Khun's signature cartoon style and tender humour.
