About this work
Reverse is a 40 × 60 cm acrylic on canvas painted in 2026 by Khun (Jakkaphan Deengam), a Bangkok street artist who has been making work in public spaces since 2022, and it shows a bespectacled, mustachioed man with a red nose and closed eyes whose head opens into a grassy mound with a single tree growing from it, one hand holding a burning match while the other tips a watering can, surrounded by lime-green arrows spinning in a loop against a coral-red ground with faint mountain outlines, capturing the contradiction of people who destroy and try to restore nature at the same time and asking how long we will keep going round in this cycle, all rendered in Khun's bold cartoon palette and wry, satirical humour.
