About this work
Untitled 2 (ไม่มีชื่อ 2) is a 100 × 120 cm acrylic painting from 2012 by Anuchat Thananchai, a Chiang Mai-born painter inspired by French Impressionism. It is an abstract composition of countless angular fragments, triangles and small rounded forms scattered across the whole canvas, like shattered ice, a coral reef or an underwater world seen through the surface of the sea. Turquoise and bright blue dominate, touched with flecks of blue-green, while pockets of deep navy shadow scattered throughout add depth and lead the eye around the canvas. Unlike Untitled 1, this work has no single focal point; it spreads across the entire surface and feels fresher, cooler and more lively. Its title leaves it open to each viewer's own reading.
