Composition 6 (องค์ประกอบศิลป์ 6) is a 100 × 120 cm acrylic painting from 2013 by Anuchat Thananchai, a Chiang Mai-born painter inspired by French Impressionism. It is an abstract composition of countless facets radiating from the centre of the canvas in a star-like burst, like a diamond seen from above or light refracting inside crystal. Planes that catch the light are creamy white tinged with pale blue and soft green, set against amber, golden-brown facets and deep blue-green recesses. The contrast of cool tones and gold gives the work a glittering, luxurious sparkle. The smooth surface and precise gradations of light and shade make each facet look as translucent as a real gemstone. The sixth work in his Composition series, it returns to the faceted crystal language of his Color Power works but in a softer, brighter palette of white and gold.
